Fluency: How Duolingo and LinkedIn Can Help

I know I have written in the past about how streaks are meant to be broken, but I must admit that my 51 day Duolingo streak is bringing a smile to my face. I am headed to Spain in March and I am committed to brushing up on my Spanish before I arrive so I can actually speak when I am there. Sometimes I do 15 minutes a day, sometimes over an hour. The repetition and consistency are helping me review vocabulary and remember grammar so I can understand and speak more easily. And Duolingo rewards me with music and trophies and awards to keep me happy and remind me of my progress.

LinkedIn is like Duolingo for careers. When done thoughtfully, you can create an environment on LinkedIn where you can become fluent in the world of careers. Do you want to learn more about the world of marketing, finance, fundraising, food, media? LinkedIn can help. LinkedIn is useful when you are just starting out, re-entering the workforce after a break, moving along in your career, pivoting as well as thinking about slowing down. No matter where you are in your career, LinkedIn has a community to connect with, articles to read and conversations to join

LinkedIn: Beyond the Profile will help you create a welcoming environment that will make LinkedIn more inviting, more relevant and more engaging. You will be excited by the changes that you make and how those changes improve your experience. Start a LinkedIn streak that works for you. Once a week, once a day, 5 minutes, an hour, whatever works for you.
